After many weeks of lockdown, we’re delighted to announce that Tor View Shepherds Huts will be looking forward to welcoming back clients old and new.

To ensure the well-being of our guests we have responded to the official Government guidelines in providing safe, self-isolated accommodation here onsite. We have re-set our robust self-access processes for guests’ arrivals and departures, and will be providing 100% self-check-in and check-outs for the foreseeable future. Whilst you are on-site with us you will not be sharing any communal areas or facilities with other guests or with the proprietors, and we have upgraded our cleaning processes. We have also increased the amount of anti-bacterial washing and cleaning products available for guests in the huts.

As we all recover from the events of the past few months we may need to make further adjustments to our operations and processes, to address currently-unknown operational issues. We kindly ask you to assist us, so that we can achieve safe self-isolated accommodation for all our guests. You can do this by being fully prepared for your stay and bringing all provisions with you, so that you do not have to rely on frequent food shopping. We would also suggest that you check with local attractions, restaurants and pubs that you plan to visit during your stay with us.

We have also increased the amount of sanitising equipment and urge our guests to follow the advice by Public Health England (PHE):

  • Wash your hands with soap and hot water often – use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available. Hand washing is key to preventing spread of the virus.
  • Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.

We have a non-contact arrival procedure. So you will be able to gain access to your accommodation and have seclusion and privacy once you are in your in the accommodation.

If you have any pre-arrival questions please contact us directly so that we can answer them, as we take the first steps in our return to a more normal life as quickly as possible!

Tor View Shepherds Huts Covid – 19 Practical Considerations
Risk Assessment and Health and Safety Protocol as of 04/07/2020 (E&OE)

This document is published in accordance with Government advice and PASC guidance.
This may be reviewed at any time to reflect the current virus situation within Somerset or England.

You should not attempt to arrive here on-site if anyone in your party is showing any Covid symptoms, or are recovering having had Covid in the past 14 days. Should symptoms develop whilst you’re at the property we are to be informed immediately and you should then pack your belongings, follow the check-out process, and leave immediately to self-isolate at home.

The objective of these measures is to reduce the risk(s) to the lowest reasonably practicable level that we can achieve, by taking the preventative measures which we have identified below.

Contact free check-in and check-out, access details will be emailed to you prior to your arrival.

Don’t attempt to arrive before your pre agreed arrival time, this is subject to change.

As hosts, we are now carrying out the following additional actions above and beyond our standard cleaning process to this property:

Covid 19 can live on many household surfaces and must be disinfected regularly.
We are now using virucidal disinfectant effective against Coronavirus; certified to European standards EN1276, EN14675, EN13704, EN14476 and 1650 between each stay, this is a food safe product.
Surfaces and fabrics may remain damp on arrival due to the disinfectant being left to air dry.

To avoid contamination, some soft furnishings, leaflets, magazines and other items may have been removed prior to your arrival. For example all cushions have been removed, and far less condiments are now provided. As a result, our website images and descriptions may not reflect the current arrangements. Linen and towels are washed in accordance with washing instructions, and are not replaced or reused for at least 48 hours between stays. Gloves are worn when making the bed.

We are paying particular attention to high touch points i.e. all surfaces, door handles, cupboard handles, light switches, remote controls, keys, key-safe and information folder, we have upgraded to a higher level of disinfecting cleaning of the hot tub in between guests stays.

As guests we ask that you also comply by sanitising your hands before entering the property at the sanitiser station(s) provided. Follow these daily duties during your stay: frequent hand washing and surface cleansing using the disinfectant provided in the Covid cleaning box; observe the minimum    1 metre social distancing rule; leave windows and doors open whenever possible to ventilate the property; no non-essential visitor(s) to the property under any circumstances. We may also need to delay your arrival times to later than published times, to help us accommodate deep cleans.

On your departure morning strip bedding (not the mattress, pillow protectors or duvet, as these are sprayed in-between guests with disinfectant EN1276,EN14675,EN1374,EN14476 and 1650) and place bedding etc. in the clear plastic bags provided in the Covid cleaning box whether they have been used or not. Leave them inside the property, and do the same with the towels, bath mats, shower curtain, and tea towels. We recommend that you wash crockery or utensils before first use in hot soapy water. Please ensure everything is washed and put away on your departure morning.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter and we kindly ask that you have promptly departed the property and left in your vehicle by 10.00 am latest (unless you have pre-paid for later departure time) this is to enable us sufficient extra time to complete a deep clean in between guest stays. Your names and contact numbers may be passed to track and trace agents if required.

If you have any pre-arrival questions please contact us directly so that we can answer them, as we take the first steps in our return to a more normal life as quickly as possible!
