Home comforts and more…

Len the Shepherds Hut is named after Phil’s grandfather, a farmer in whose field Len and Ted are situated.

Phil recognised that some of us are reluctant to give up the modern creature comforts we take for granted – so he carefully designed Len the Shepherds Hut to include everything you could wish for, from an en-suite shower and flushing toilet to electric central heating and fitted kitchen, a luxury comfy mattress supplied with all the bed linen and duvet, to the DAB radio, Wi-Fi, TV, DVD player and mood lighting (we also provide a small hairdryer too!)

It was a true labour of love that then resulted in Len, a uniquely handmade Shepherd’s Hut. A charming recreation of pastoral bliss, yet with all the features you’d expect in a five star luxury apartment.

We aim to provide you with almost everything you should need for a stay here in Len’s Hut.

We will provide you with fine Egyptian cotton bed linen for your stay; we have even provided you with a simple dry larder supply that includes West Country Tea bags, high quality ground coffee, sugar and sometimes even a pint of milk ready in the fridge for your arrival.

If you feel like lighting Len’s wood burning stove (or fire pit), you need not worry about wood, kindling or fire starters. They are included too! So there’s no need to purchase these from a roadside garage late at night.

Stepping into the bathroom for the first time you will also find large fluffy towels, shower gel, and fresh toilet tissue. Everything one needs to make the stay perfectly perfect is provided as standard.

The area boasts some wonderful pubs and restaurants, as well as interesting places to buy locally produced cider and cheese. Bring a healthy thirst and appetite!

We’ve written a list of a few of our local pubs where we have eaten as a family. We have included those which we have tried at some time or another, but of course there are lots more in the area locally – we can’t get around them all! Please ask us for our recommendations.

Len’s Hut is a spacious and luxurious hand made Shepherds Hut that stands 18’ by 7” wide. With a fully fitted small kitchen, Double bed/day bed 4’6” Tempur memory mattress, Integral shower room and WC, Len The Hut is the quintessence of luxurious glamping.

For written directions check out the Contact Us page.

There is plenty to keep the avid adventurer occupied within the area.
From shopping in Bristol to discovering Wookey Holes cave network, there’s a little of everything just around the corner.

Minimum Stay

We offer you the flexibility to arrive when you like and to stay for as long as you want. However, durations of 2 nights (low season) and up to 3 nights (high season) are the minimum stay required.

Due to the character and popularity of our huts, we strongly advise you to book well in advance to secure your preferred dates as we may not be able to accommodate your last minute booking.

One Night Wonders

Mid-week only

From only £165

Although we know you will get more out of your experience and better value with a 2 or 3-night stay in the huts, we do occasionally book one-night breaks.

These are only available when there is an odd night left on its own. They cannot be booked more than 3 weeks in advance, or within a week of arrival. If you spot a night left on its own within the next 1-3 weeks, email us to ask about booking and price.

Gift Vouchers

Gift Vouchers are available for those special occasions. Please feel free to contact us to arrange your voucher.

We use bookalet when taking your booking. Just in case you wanted to take a look, here is a link to bookalet’s Privacy Policy.

The Small Print

Basically, there isn’t any.

The prices shown include everything. Honest. There are no hidden fees, surcharges or surprises.

All utilities (water, electric, central heating and unlimited wireless broadband) are included – no meters with slots.

Wood, kindling and fire lighters for the fire pit and stove are all provided upon arrival. Please use responsibly.

We provide 1 bag of kiln dried hard wood logs for every night booked. This should provide approximately 3 hours of fuel to heat the water to an ideal temperature in the summer, and 2 hours in the winter.

If you should run out of your complementary allocated supply during your stay, extra bags are for sale here on site.

Extra bag(s) of logs for sale on site at £10.00 per bag, payable by cash via the honesty box.

So the price you see here is the price you pay.

Also included in the price is our friendly, helpful nature and advice on where to go – what to see- where to eat – should you want suggestions.

Should you have any further questions, we have the answers, so why not contact us now.

"Since we booked this holiday we have been counting down the days. The expectation was surpassed by Len! We have done so much in our time here but most of all we have relaxed and enjoyed the peace. Cooked steaks in the fire pit, watched deer in ‘our’ field and listened to the owls around us. Lit the stove and cooked (windows & doors open) and constantly found new things hidden away. Thank you Phil & making us so welcome."

"We loved staying in the cosy, warm hut, the fog, gales and the beating rain made it even more atmospheric. The attention to detail is amazing, and we had such fun opening all the draws and cupboards and being surprised at we found!

The books were apt and interesting and we loved the sheep memorabilia, there is so much packed into a small space and it still looks modern and uncluttered."

"Wow! It’s like the Tardis, you’ve packed in so much but it feels so spacious, and all done with so much thought and style. I think you’ve set the “gold standard” for glamping, and the en suite is wonderful. It’s a magical place, mysterious outside, with the mist at sunset, but the lights were on warm and welcoming like a secret cocoon."
