Tor View Shepherds Huts
Privacy Policy

We are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors who visit our website and make a booking with Tor View Shepherds Huts.

In particular, we want you to know that we do not sell, rent or trade your contact details with other companies and businesses for their marketing purposes. We just don’t do that sort of thing. Never have. Never will.

As you know, we base our business on providing the best “get away from it all” experience we possibly can… but, just in case you wonder what information we do keep – it’s the minimum necessary for us to process your booking and keep in contact with you after your stay (you’ll be amazed at how many people leave stuff behind in the huts).

In our Privacy Policy, we’ve provided lots of detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

The next stuff is a bit boring, but it’s out legal obligation to share this with you… you might want to grab a coffee first?

The types of data we collect

Website cookies

Of course, there are cookies. As far as we are aware, all websites have cookies. Like most websites, we use ‘cookie’ technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve our Services. A cookie is a small data file that is transferred to your computer’s hard disk.

Most Internet browsers automatically accept cookies. You can instruct your browser, by changing its settings, to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from the websites you visit. However, some services may not function properly if you disable cookies.

You can visit www.aboutcookies.org for more information on how to manage and remove cookies across a variety of different internet browsers.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.torviewshepherdshuts.co.uk, we use a third party service (Google Analytics) to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Bookings

When you make a booking, we use a booking ‘widget’ called Bookalet to handle the process. The personal information you enter into the Bookalet portal is covered by their privacy policy and this in turn is shared with us to process your booking. When making a booking you can ask that we don’t use your details for future marketing purposes.

Our Newsletter

If you do consent to us using your details for future newsletters (around 4-6 times a year) your personal information is passed to Constant Contact which we use for mailing out our newsletter. The only personal data that we pass to Constant Contact is your email address.

We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. Constant Contact’s privacy policy can be found here. You can unsubscribe at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of the newsletters.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Drop us an email if you have a request and our data protection officer (Phil) will get back to you.

Changes to this Privacy Notice

This notice is a living document and will be updated to maintain the safe and secure use of your data.
